I am NOT a professional Rubik's Cube Solver so please take my review with that in mind:



this is NOT the 80's Rubik Cube. There are no stickers, no "snap apart" corners that will enable you to actually disassemble the cube into tiny squares and reconstruct it back to perfection when you can't figure it out (that was my method of choice for "solving" the cube when I was a kid.)



This cube is Serious Business- it's INCREDIBLY smooth (no pinched fingers), and fast. It's sort of missing the "clicky" satisfaction of the original, but if you are at the point where your cube activities are not about actually solving the cube but doing it quickly, this is the sort of cube you want to get.



Since I'm NOT a competitor, I still just work on the cube just to force my brain to work a little harder. But I'm really impressed by this cube, it's like if Rubik's was re-introduced for the 21st century. My eight year old daughter especially likes it.



All in all, it's modern looking and feeling, but still holds the same challenge as the original.
