CUSTOMER REVIEW
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?) Once you get past the flowery language about the light-up dress in the description and come back to reality, you'll be okay. While the Mattel marketing makes it sound like Barbie is a radiant diva destined to suck the breath from the room, she's actually a basic Barbie with some LED light-up bits. And that's okay.
Barbie as Princess Alexa, one of the stars of the new Barbie & The Secret Door movie (which is pretty good, btw), is more interactive than most Barbies. Not only does she have a light-up feature (now my 4yo's favorite bedside feature since we're trying to ween her off her nightlight), but she plays a couple clips of the songs that will send my girls singing and swirling around the living room. I'd guess each clip is 30 seconds-ish, but they'll keep replaying and replaying, so its limited duration hasn't saved me.
It's definitely interesting to see where Barbie is going, adding functionality to the doll where imagination once played. But my girls seem to like her and she moved right in to our Disney Princess Castle, so now she's like family. Not as popular as the overly-similar light-up, musical Anna and Elsa dolls, but close.
