Grandson very happy with all the gadgets on lawn mower but the wheels are so small it can't be pushed on the grass. So it is an inside toy which defeats the purpose of buying it. Don't know why these toys are made then can't be used on the lawn which is what little boys want!

The only reason I took off a star is for what I feel was a little deceptive about the description where it says there are 45 pieces in the set, 20 "pieces" are the 20 pages of plain white paper, they literally counted each piece of paper as one "piece". Other than that I like the set a lot. But I bought this for one reason, for use with black paper and gel pens.



I remember when the first generations of gel pens for use on black paper came out, gosh about 2 decades ago, I very quickly thought of Spirograph. I bought a Spirograph set and we tried many gel pens but the first generation of gel pens were not very good. It went from dozens of companies making gel pens and black paper to only a handful. This generation of gel pens has made a great comeback and we see a lot of companies getting back in to the business of making gel pens and black paper. For gel pens on black paper the best are the Sakura 38176 10-Piece Gelly Roll Assorted Colors Blister Card Moonlight Gel Ink Pen Set but if you really want to add to your Spirograph fun I recommend also getting what I call "The Castle", the TEKwriterUSA Gelwriter Gel Pen Set with Pop-up Case, 100-Count (27104-D), it has every kind of gel pen you could imagine and great for every shade of paper from black to white.



For black paper I recommend getting both the Wausau Astrobrights Heavy Duty Paper, 24 lb, 8.5 x 11 Inches, Eclipse Black, 500 Sheets (22321) and the Black Page Journal, Black Cover, 36 Qty/case, you get three sizes, 12 each, I'm guessing around 5, 6 and 8 inch size with about 50 pages each, a fantastic value at less than a dollar a notebook. The notebooks are not lined.



Also if you are in to what I like to call "florescent" art try the light boards and liquid chalk markers. Here is one light board but there are more a little lower in the "Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed" section, Neon Board Features Multi-colored, Flashing LED Lights. The light boards have a bunch of different colors and lighting effects from the most simple, leaving one color on, to multiple color and effect combinations. Seeing how each color of liquid chalk marker interacts with the different color lights and effects is amazing.

Sakura has come out with smaller version of the Gelly Roll set that has the best colors for black paper in the set Sakura 38174 5-Piece Gelly Roll Assorted Colors Blister Card Moonlight Gel Ink Pen Set, Dawn Pack, it eliminates some of the darker colors from the larger set. I would also recommend getting some extra fine pens for the more intricate designs on white paper. Some good ones are the Pilot G-Tec and Hi-Tec series, the Uni-Ball Signo series and the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner series.

My First Disney Princess Frozen Snow Glow Elsa Singing Doll

I purchased both the non-singing version and this singing version with a price difference of $10.00 and the extra money was well worth it. While others think the song is too short or annoying - my 16 month old instantly loved this doll. It much more entertaining than the non-interactive doll which I'll be giving to my 6 year old niece. Comes with little Olaf which is a nice to have. The light up feature is great too. This toy is probably geared more for 4 and under- while any child would probably like this, I don't think a 1-3 year old will bore of it as easy.

My daughter is in LOVE with the dresses and the jewelry and I do not have to worry about her ruining a sixty five dollar dress from Disneyland. She can actually play in these and be a child without worries. I'm very happy with this product. :)

Jenga Classic Game

We bought one game for each table at our daughter's wedding, so strangers would have something to play with each other. It was a big hit. Our friends made friends with each other and are now have plans for later without us. The bride wrote love quotes on half of the pieces, and one in Spanish in each set. Whoever pulled the Spanish quote got to take the game home. This game has suspense with no real danger, appeals to all ages, is simple to play, and lasts forever.

Monopoly Board Game

Chances are that you've already played Monopoly once or twice in your life, so I'll skip most of the well known details such as it's a great game for 4 or more players both old and young. Anyways the quality of the board and game pieces are about the same as previously released Monopoly boxes. The only big differences are the new cat token and the speed die as well as new rules related to it. My guess is that the speed die was introduced since the most common complaint about Monopoly is that the game takes too long to finish. However you really don't need the speed die if you played using the official rules involving property auctions. Specifically, if a player lands on property and fails to buy it, that property immediately goes to public auction for all the players to bid on with a minimum starting bid price that is way below the normal property selling price. This makes the game finish much faster.



Personally, I find it more enjoyable to play the themed versions of Monopoly though they tend to cost more (even though most of the time, the rules are the same and the differences are just cosmetic):

Fisher-Price Disney's Princess Bowtique Minnie Mouse

Let me start by saying that my daughter loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Naturally, Minnie Mouse was an instant hit! I saw this set online and ordered it for her 2nd Birthday.



I loved it because it is labeled for "2 year olds and up". I feel like 2 is a difficult age because she is no longer interested in the infant toys, but most of the toys in the store are for 3 year olds and up because of small pieces. The doll is a bit bigger than the average action figure, so the pieces are bigger. This is a relief to me because I dont have to worry about her choking on little pieces. Also, it is easier to keep things together and we are less likely to lose these bigger pieces.



The dresses, as well as the other accessories sort of snap on or slip on. This can be a little difficult for her little fingers. She often brings the pieces to me and asks for help. She loves to change Minnie's outfit and have Minnie stare into the mirror. This has been a great set to take on outings or trips to grandma's house. I think it has also helped her imagination because I hear her playing "pretend" with Minnie.



I think this is a great transitional toddler toy from the infant stage to the little girl stage. I wish there were mores sets like this! You can also check out the swimsuit minnie mouse set, I liked this one better. I would love to see more characters made by fisher price for this age!

We bought this for my son on his 2nd birthday. He immediately loved it. His 3rd birthday is coming up in July and it's amazing how good he's become at whacking the ball off the tee. He'll definitely be ready to join a T-ball league soon, and this playset definitely gave him the practice. As far as outdoor games, this is definitely a must. Great fun all around.



The set came with the tee, a bat and two white balls. The set is entirely made of plastic. In a year, the set still looks good as new.



Highly recommended.

Stomp Rocket Jr. Glow Kit

This is bar none a fantastic toy. FANTASTIC. It is my "go-to" birthday gift. Mostly I buy it for my son's friends, but my 30+ year old brother in law loved it too. My son first got it years ago (age 4) and played with it all the time. He finally broke it after over a year's worth of constant play so I think durability-wise it's awesome.



When we went to buy a new one we got the Ultra. This was a mistake and here's why: The Ultra rockets are plastic. So they break and crack. They are a hard plastic. The Jr. rocket is all foam (nerf material) and it's nearly impossible to ruin them. I can tell very little difference in the actual flight height. And when we first got the Jr. rocket, my daughter (2 yrs old at the time) could stomp it just like her brother (well, not quite as much as her brother, but she was thrilled it went up some). So we went back and got the Jr. and my son is now 6 (my daughter 4) and they still play with it all the time. It's a hit when friends come over.



So I completely recommend the JR. Truth be told- I have one wrapped up in my car as I type for a birthday we're going to next week.

Magformers 14 Piece Set

My children, (4.5 and 2.5) got these for Christmas, one 30 piece set each. Shown here is the red and purple and green and purple set. My daughter received the red & purple, but they also come in blue & yellow which is what my son has. There are two shapes - 18 squares and 12 triagles in the 30 piece box. 30 pieces is enough to build decent sized shapes, but if you have a builder who enjoys elaborate structures, they may want more pieces. From what I've seen, I would think 14 pieces would be too few. All the pieces in a set are the same two colors, one side is red, the other purple for example.



They do indeed go together as described on the box. They never reject on the edge, if you flip it over the other way, it still connects. I did find that certain combinates of putting them face to face does reject and the shape has to be flipped over. The magnets are completely encapsulated in the plastic, not glued in the edges as was the problem with magnet toys which have been recalled - as these strong magnets can be deadly when swallowed. That is my largest concern with this toy, but I spent some time trying to pry apart the plastic to be sure it was secure and it flexed some but seemed pretty well put together. Given the CPSC's recalls on other toys using similar magnets, however, I will be keeping a very close eye on these.



As for the educational value, they are wonderful - my 4.5 year old daughter was immediately building all sorts of geometric shapes with it, and while my son isn't at that level, he still enjoyed stacking them and pulling them apart. This toy is a great alternative to the much more expensive magnatiles.
