The moment my son unwrapped the football and figured out how to turn on the lights on the glasses he was completely awestruck.
The football comes with two glasses (my package had one pair with red lights and another one with green lights in it). At night, or in a dark room, one puts the glasses on and gives the football an instant (red or green, depending on which glasses are used) colored "glow effect". It's so easy to play in the dark outside now and still see the ball being thrown back and forth (given that one wears the glasses). Wonderful for cool summer nights outside. My son loves to play in a darkened room just to look at the glowing football. However, one can also use this toy without the glasses.
The ball itself is made of rubber/foam material and pretty durable. I like the fact that it is not too hard, which means it can also be used by smaller kids (I think the recommended minimum age of 6 years is appropriate for this toy). The glasses are made of plastic but look very sturdy as well. For right now, I am really happy for my kid that he has the opportunity to play with a really cool toy that gets him moving around and keeps him entertained.
